flax from the time of harvesting to when it is woven into
cloth. Outdoors at the Museum, 10 A.M. to 5 P.M., weather

| Popular Music During World War II - Propaganda to Boost
Morale. Calvin Knickerbocker, independent scholar, focuses on
songs to unify the country and increase morale both at home
and in the military.

will be at the Museum from 2-4 P.M. to visit and will give a
short talk on his experiences at 2:30 P.M.

| The Old Farmers Almanac and N.H. Tales - Judson Hale,
editor of Yankee Magazine & Almanac, will share the history
and stories surrounding the Almanac over the years.

| The Concord Coach - New Hampshire's Best Known
Product. William Copeley, Librarian N.H. Historical Society,
will discuss the Abbot-Downing Company of Concord, the
manufacturers, 1813-1928, of 40 different styles of horse
drawn vehicles that carried New Englanders and opened the
west.

| The Revolutionary War and N.H. Jere Daniell, Professor of
History Emeritus, Dartmouth. There was no significant military
action on New Hampshire soil during the American Revolution,
but the war affected the new state in multiple ways. Professor
Daniell's talk will assess the short-term impact of
mobilization and fighting, as well as the long-term
consequences of victory.

Gaskell, with the assistance of Ella Mellen, will present a
look at the stores in Washington from the stagecoach days to
the present.
